not sure if he is on Discord, but might be an idea to send him a PM from that also.

He's not on Discord. I have emailed him directly. We're also a day early and it's entirely possible he's busy with work and won't get to it until this evening.

What will we do on the weekend if someone misses their time slot? Skip them and they make their pick of who’s left when they come on, or give them BPA?
My preference is give them bpa from the nhl draft summary list.

I vote a predetermined drop, say 10th best player available. That way they won't be detrimentally punished for life happening, yet there is incentive to prioritize availability.

10th best might be a bit punitive. Maybe 5th best?

10th best might be a bit punitive. Maybe 5th best? Agree, if material changes are okay at this point, I am in full support.

In the past, we have always skipped their pick and they pick when they come back on. We give people enough warning about when they will be picking and offer to pick from a list.
It is also early and he has a set time for tomorrow.

If they miss their slot, then let the next go. When they return, they pick. But if they have not returned to pick, by the end of that 24 pick round, select the next highest available for them. I think that is fare.

Bear has until 13:10 tomorrow to make his pick. No one else will pick until he misses his window. Thems the rules.

Yep. Those are the rules.
I am of the opinion though if you miss your pick from the whole round then you just pick when you can. If you begin to miss the next round then you’re out of luck, the draft should continue.
If you make a selection before 45 and you were 24th, then you can’t be mad if the guy picking 24th comes out of nowhere and picks your guy.
I don’t think it’s our responsibility to have to choose a prospect for somebody that had plenty of time to know their pick and who to pick.

I have always thought dropping them to the round's bottom is reasonable.

I have always thought dropping them to the round's bottom is reasonable. Once it is their time to pick, they can pick at any time. So if Bear misses his pick then comes on as Doc is picking and scoops the guy Doc wants, that is what it is. We don’t drop them to the End of a round. They are still live and can pick at any time.

Draft doesn't officially start until tomorrow. But I do think some penalty for unavailability during scheduled times should be voted on for next draft.
We have lives to live, all of us. But if everyone was on and ready to go, we can crack out a draft in 2 hours. Thats a movies worth of time.
My first draft we had 30 gms all online and ready to go, we knocked that out of the park in no time.
3 days a year (Prospect draft, UFA draft, deadline day) shouldn't be hard for 24 people to log in and crack off the events in short order. Plus it's fun as hell having everyone chatting and shooting the breeze.
Anywho, hopefully Bear hasn't disappeared and he makes his pick in his window tomorrow and not just Bear, EVERYONE.
Good luck other GMs.

Settle down - I’ve always been timely with my picks in the past and had a minor surgery this morning.
Anyway, Ottawa is over the moon to select Lucas Raymond.

I didn’t mean to single you out Bear, or that anything should be done today. I was thinking about for the weekend once timed slots start. Someone eventually always misses a slot and we always had an unofficial policy of moving on and the missed person then picks when they can. It’s always seemed like there should be a better way to deal with those scenarios. Which is why I raised the topic.

Since this a strong draft for forwards but a bit light on d-men, I’ll nab Jamie Drysdale.

Agreed, which is why I said life happens. It would be hard to stay interested if I lost all draft picks one year due to an unplanned or unavoidable emergency. That could really set someone back.

Which begs the question...how did you guys end up with so many picks in the first round? You two own basically half the picks between the two of you.

Well, in my case, look at my roster. My roster stinks, so I have to have something going. In Braeden’s case tho I think he cheated.
Kidding of course.

This wasn't supposed to be a hard pick, but now it is... I have a few guys that I like! I want all of them!
Greediness aside, the Kings are proud to select from the OHL Saginaw Spirit, Cole Perfetti.

It was 50/50 for me between Perfetti and another guy, so I'll take the other guy. Alex Holtz.

With the #12 pick I'll select Anton Lundell. I will take a moment to do some gut checking before using the #13 pick.
