The NHL has not released the salary cap yet. Rumours are it will only go up about $1m unless there are some games played to bring it up higher. For reference it was 86.7m and 61m for 22-23.
Just a PSA on the salary cap so nobody says they didn't know. from the CBA:
4.0 Salary Cap
The salary cap for Classic is equal to the cap in the NHL + 5% rounded up to nearest $100,000.
Salaries for active and reserve players are used to calculate the team cap hit. Prospect players are not included. Every team must be between these two figures at all times during the season. GMs may not make a player transaction that puts the team over/under the cap/floor. This includes trades, free agent signings (during the season) or any other acquisition. GMs are expected to clear up any cap issues immediately after a trade or acquisition. If a GM makes a transaction that violates the cap and does not rectify the issue before the next weekly cut-off period, the team will be docked 50 points for each week and will no longer be eligible for prizes.
4.1 Salary Calculation
Salaries are calculated based on the player's Average Annual Value (AAV). For ease of administration, Fantrax provides cap numbers. Should Fantrax numbers differ from the NHL posted AAV, the NHL will be used as the source of truth. Discrepancies in AAV must be addressed with the league commissioner. Capfriendly.com should be used as reference only and not considered official (though they are pretty accurate).
4.2 Off Season
During the offseason teams may exceed the salary cap by no more than 10%. GMs must be under the salary cap and above the cap floor by the start of the regular season. If a GM obtains a player who puts the team over the salary cap or more than 10% in the offseason, the GM will be forced to drop that player. If this event occurs during the draft, the player will be added back to the free-agent pool. GMs who selected after the offending GM will not have the first right to the player.
