Hi GMs,
With the draft winding down, and as part of our continunous improvement process, the mods have been reviewing the impacts of the salary cap and are proposing a change for next season. Currently, we are using the NHL cap and indexing it by 5%. This year the NHL cap is $83.5m, and we're 83.5+5%=$87.7m. We are proposing we increase the indexing number to 7.5% for the 2024-25 season and beyond. There is a belief the NHL cap will increase around 4m next year and we feel that increase, plus a great index number, will be of benefit to GMs. Please voice your opinion in the poll.
Additional improvements or minor tweaks and changes are always being looked at and may be implemented if needed.
Note: You have until Sept 15 to vote.

I would personally like to see what the cap increase will be first, but I also have league fees taken care of for the next two years 😁

We won’t know what the cap increase will be for sure until after next spring’s GM meetings. By then it’s too late for GMs to factor in changes like this to their long range plans, so if we’re doing it we pretty much have to do it now.

I vote no extra increase and keep it at 5%. We'll get the extra increase from the NHL and it makes decision making more important. But I'll go along with whatever my leaguemates decide with no complaints

Yes. I got two of the Toronto core 4. I’ll need that extra 2.5%

Vote passed 10-7, or 11-7 with Don’s write in vote. We’ll be indexing at 7.5% from next year forward.
