14 players on a back to back will do that.

It would have been just about getting through the game

They need to eliminate goal scoring from the tie-breaking mechanism so teams can let up in games like that. Until they change that tho no coach in the world will let his team take their foot of the gas.

These drubbings happen every year with graduating teams. Germany is on the rise but its obvious there's still a ways to go.
It happens. Next time they'll take it favorably when they lose 9-1. Baby steps as they say.

It was also something the expected by the sounds of it. Back to back Finland - Canada with a little more than enough players it the German coaches were really just playing those games as tune up for the games that mattered to them against The Swiss and Austrians Slovaks Perhaps if they had a full team they’d have looked to the Finnish game as more competitive and wouldn’t have completely ran out of gas against Canada, They did fairly well with what they had against the Finns. Biggest thing they need is a good sports psychologist to talk to the shell shocked goalies. That had to be hardest on them.

I actually commented to my wife that they might have been better off pulling the goalies, it would save them psychologically.
With kids that age, you could damage them.
It will be interesting to see how they respond in their remaining games.
I liked that Peterka and Stuestle (sp?) never gave up. They were exhausted but kept skating.

They did though! They swapped goalies after the 1st. 4 goals on 11 shots then 12 goals on 33. Both stellar .63 GAA. I guess the backup bore the brunt of it so it’s ok.

I meant actually having no goalie at all. A shooter tutor might have been an idea.
Maybe let one of the goalies take of the pads and take a few shifts up front. Let the others rest up.
I know, absurd but still it is a thought.

Let the 3rd Canadian goalie dress and get some action.

As a former goalie, I think that may be more humiliating I meant actually having no goalie at all. A shooter tutor might have been an idea. Maybe let one of the goalies take of the pads and take a few shifts up front. Let the others rest up. I know, absurd but still it is a thought.
