An old acquitance in Banff passed last week suddenly from the rona. That struck the reality of this shit hard into the brain. I'm sorry to hear about that. It's a shitty thing.

Hopefully the 2 plus weeks since your shot helped build some antibodies and makes your recovery quick.

My Buddy is home and on bed rest!! A huge step forward for him. And we seem to be doing okay.
Our tests came back negative but we have symptoms. Nothing serious at this point. Step daughter still isolated in her room.

Good! She was pretty sick for about four days. Never bad enough to take her to the hospital. But sleeping the entire day, coughing a lot…
But she bounced back and became an annoying little twit like before, so ya. Back to normal.
Thank you for asking

Got my first. I'm 5g Moderna capable. Can't believe the reception I'm getting so far. Canot imagine how amazing it'll be once I get the 2nd shot!

[b YO SAME but Pfizer. my Google maps is super accurate now! they told me to call the doctor if my 5g signal stays at full reception for over 4 hours though.

So, Heard the news and switched my 2nd AZ shot to Pfizer. I get it tomorrow am. Wasn't planning on the cocktail but here we are. Seriously, this AZ yes/no/maybe has been rolled out piss poorly.

I did a bunch of reading. I’m no expert but I believe there is nothing wrong with AZ. There are many countries, primarily UK ones and India, where their population is mostly AZ and they haven’t had any significant issues. What the media seems to have missed is all medications have side effects and in some cases people die. Little old pain reliever Aspirin will kill people. The medical community has done a crap job of communicating this though. Health Canada says one thing, NACI contradicts confusing people. Originally we’re told 12 week between shots, then some provinces say 10 other 8. The reasons why don’t seem to get communicated. (The nutshell on that is 12 weeks was recommended when supply was short but with lots of supply, 8 weeks is totally fine and preferred to get more people fully vaxxed and protected from the variants.)
Also from my reading mixing seems fine. Getting the Arnold Pharma or PfAZer seems very effective and likely something us AZers would end up doing in the future anyway as traditional vaccines lose potency over time as people naturally build up resistance. The mRNA vaccines are new and a bit more unknown but the expectation is they won’t have the same issue.
