Rationale: Giving up production in a near ppg player for two lesser producing players on cheaper contracts. Jones was to get a cheap dman, although he may be the 7th dman in Chicago. Used prospect upgrade and 31 overall prospect pick to get the deal done.
The significant piece for me was the recognition that Sharkbait would not be using the 3rd overall fa for a goalie so he would be okay moving to 5th since the Rangers would not be picking a skater. It helps me get a better goalie and does not impact his options.
