Wow, I wonder if that backfired, or went according to plan? At least this will help Ford reach the cap minimum.

It was such a funny, yet petty move by Carolina. I don’t know why they were petty, Montreal did them a solid by locking in Aho at a very reasonable cap hit. Though, it was a win-win for Carolina in the sense that they get a middle 6 center for just magic beans and also screwing over Montreal’s center depth. What I don’t get is why didn’t Carolina just go for Dvorak, whom I feel is the better player over KK. I’m guessing they are already in agreement with KK with a 5 x 5 or something along those lines come January 1st.
At least this made the offseason somewhat interesting. The whole Eichel debacle has really stalled the offseason.

They would not do it unless they thought they could get him and actually wanted him. I think it’s a smart move and was cheaper than dvorak

I like it. I have KK in two leagues and this should help his point production a lot. The only catch is it’s a one clear deal. The next contract could sting.

Although there's rumours that he will sign long term at a lower AAV with Carolina.
Become a consistent 60pt guy, sign 5x4.5M contract. Win-win

Ok, your driving me nuts. The only trade I can find online is Dvorak. Who is kk? I assume it’s real life trade, cause this is under water cooler.

If they don’t sign an extension they have to offer his current contract plus whatever percentage for ELCs…10 or 15%. So that’s automatically a hike. And if he breaks out this year he’ll get a bundle, both term and salary. So I’m hoping he does good but not great. My guess is he’ll get a 3 year bridge contract at around $6.5m. Or something like that.

They can offer him 85% and retain his rights. Thanks. I thought it was plus 15%, not minus 15%. That’s good news.
